Arabic is the language of paradise, the language of the Qur’an, and the language of the greatest of creation, our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This means Arabic holds the very keys to connecting with Allah’s final message. As important as translations are, a deep connection to the Qur’an and Sunnah is extremely difficult without a command of Arabic.
This is why at Pillars, we want to ensure that our study of the language is holistic, so that we can both understand the words of the Qur’an, and also taste the language in its full beauty.

"Attending and completing the Pillars Online Seminary Program has been an incredibly enriching experience. This experience reignited my interest for pursuing Arabic grammar further"

"I am forever grateful for Ustadh Abass. I’m a native Arabic speaker, and I’ve always struggled with grammar. I’ve taken countless classes and nothing has ever stuck. Ustadh Abass is the most patient and kind soul. He meets everyone where they are at. He invests in his students and that is such a difficult quality to find in a teacher. Because of him, my understanding of Arabic grammar is overall better and it is noticeable."
Lina Mustafa

"I have a significant increased confidence in the language than before joining pillars that used to always feel impossible. I now aim to understand and be proficient in its depths so i can access the hidden gems of the language to excel in reflection and creativity that brings me closer to Allah swt and his Messenger Saw. Growing up i felt very isolated with family and friends because of my lack of proficiency, but now Alhamdullilah I am thinking and speaking in Arabic slowly but surely not afraid to make mistakes. Arabic is becoming a beautiful means of connection not only to family oversees and friends but most importantly the Quran and Allah swt. "

"The Arabic course through pillars has helped me so much in building a strong foundation in recognizing sentence/phrase patterns and determining root letters of a word, all which have improved my ability to better understand ayat in the Qur'an. Whether it was the mere exposure to new vocabulary, or spending time going through grammar exercises in class, I have definitely noticed improvements and am so excited to continue my Arabic learning journey."
